What if you could just have one Pokémon from the original in a hack , and no other types? Which woud you choose? An attacking one? A defending one? Would you enjoy that?

This is slightly out-there, but sure.
Whether it works out might depend on who's doing this.
A more usual idea might be a ROM Hack which is centred around solo runs, or doesn't give players more than one Pokémon. Which would be useful for this?
Anyway, I'll let members fill in with their responses. I'd probably suggest Lapras or Misdreavus could be useful directions, due to the variety of moves. Something like Girafarig or Stantler could be atmospheric or different.

Everyone would ply a hack with just Marill and Pikachu!
A Koffing or Rattata solo run wld be cool. You could be Team Rockt or something.

Nice ideas here!
How about a Liepard or Rampardos run? Or Hoppip? They're not always used as th important ones.
A Marill and Pikachu game miht be too much!

I think are many ways to make an exciting hack. Then there is Rampardos hack. There is Hoppip hack. This is hw to make my exciting hack? Is Rock-type, just stands around and does nothing. I do not think so. You must use better Pokémon, like Golduck or Quagsire. You have learnt from this how to hack? It is importtant that you do these detaild things.

Is it an ancient Japanese art form? You could totally see an anime based around the journey of various characters to master this kind of monologue. Everyone would ply a hack with just Marill and Pikachu! This is hw to make my exciting hack? I do not think so. You must use better Pokémon, like Golduck or Quagsire. You have learnt from this how to hack? At around this point someone tries marrying an annoying pink-haired girl, but they are knocked out by a Metagross using Bullet Punch.

How bout Trapinch or a Regi? A Trapinch hack could totally just be you getting a Trapinch and then some guy runs up to you and screams, 'IT'S A TRRAAAP!' Meowth, you wonder how a Darth Rampardos might reply. 'You say you do not want a Rampardos hack? Then Meowth is bad Pokémon. Is broken and destroys game balance. That is more than I destroy. Now I have almost smashed my head through your screen to explain. Do you get the finer details of Rampardos hack?' (For some reason you assume that Darth Rampardos would keep quoting the Beatles to amplify their points. And also have an inferiority complex compared to Mewtwo and Zapdos.)

It does have a randomness in it which could be nteresting, if played right. It might need a few adjustments to do this, however, as otherwise this can become a bit stale. Still, no reason you couldn't have a Jigglypuff solo run. It worked for the WBC.

Jigglypuff might be bettr than Liepard, but still could be a problem. Its moves are similars. As Luminesce said, Jigglypuff might need some adjdustment to be good.
