I guess you can become kinda lame, based on the anime? Anything else?? Yes. Wimps and poseurs are clearly stated to be against the rules. Consider this a warning. Anyone else who is misled by Pikachu or in the process of being misled by Pikachu should take note of this.

Pikachu uses moves inflicting Paralysis or increasing its evasion, another major weapon. If using this, a trainer is 'highlighted' somewhat - they are more likely to act. However, outside of this they are dark - they 'shut down' or quiet the battle. Hence, there is an interplay of traits there, if only the trainer is focussed on. Hence, Pikachu can make other types more vulnerable, if they don't have super-effective moves. The trainer enjoys this ability to cause vulnerability, and can then act freely on their own. Nonetheless, Pikachu can also take damage in enacting a move like Thunder Wave, without inflicting damage. Hence, it takes its type, then tends to rely on its 'ease of movement' in terms of its moves.
However, things such as 'set-ups' and 'movesets' can in given conditions lead to 'externalising' the trainer or looking at the trainer in terms of modelling them after others you admire, rather than as yourself. This can be problematic, as this person is hence also posited as 'external.'

Good point about Paralysis. I like the conveying with colors, etc.!

This is a good point! From those games, the ordinary Pokémon wth exciting journeys are important. Especially early on!

I guess that just destroyying the first Gym isn't as evocative lol.
I guess that before Pikachu you're in Viridian... So it's early! Also it's special or rare. So those should be noticed?

Pikachu is the universal part of Viridian Foreest, with dangerous creatures around it. Pikachu offers a sentiment unique and expressible only by it. It is a rare, however it is more important that's its power isn't infinite and is instead chained to one element and a few attacks. This means that it is the symbolic.
