Apologies, figured I'd do a Sara Lee and be quiet except for a brief post under a heel persona.
Thanks for the up-dates, Lapras. Some decent results there, including wins for Orton and Rollins. Also don't mind the SDL match's result, with Bayley's title involvement in RAW the last thing we need is gratuitous bliss in SmackDown. I swear they'll have to draft Ash Ketchum at this rate. That said, the scene there is slightly interesting, given that the major competitors have names resembling 'bully.' It hence can sound symbolic. The Undertaker match might be unpopular, but if Taker might be retiring (for now) it's appropriate. They're a dark archetype, and if they retire they are entering into a more normal and familiar context, and the 'light' world, so a win for the Taker might seem out of place to represent this transition. It might come off as disingenuous for Taker to win and then turn into something quite opposite on the spot. For others who play more ordinary characters, it might make more sense - though still rare. While Taker leaves, Reigns also gets a notable reaction of some sort, so that both of them benefit rather than all the focus being on the Undertaker. In addition, letting them leave at WM is probably a decent decision, as it's a notable occasion and they've been around for a while.
The Wyatt match saw some strange hijinks. These would in all likelihood anger their opponent rather than anything else. However, turning up at WM and having a bunch of insects thrown around is akin to the Deadsoul Tribe's 'The January Tree' album, which decides to open with the track 'Spiders and Flies.' Hence evoking vividly the image of picking at a tree and being covered in spiders and flies. It has the reassuring chorus of 'Spiders and flies / We're caught in a web and we're eaten alive.' Thanks, guys.
Still, you suppose that the insects might be adhering to the precepts of kayfabe?
The Cena squash was a pity. Still, if we're discussing WWE people going out with others, I believe Emma, Alexa Bliss, Sara Lee (thanks for mentioning them, Lapras. Most wouldn't have checked), Nikki Bella, Carmella, Brie Bella, Maryse (lel), AJ Lee, Paige, and probably a couple others, all come under this from the female league. They are doing so now, or have recently. Charlotte and Summer Rae have done so in the recent past, as well. They rarely go out of the WWE circuit, but Bayley does manage this. Nikki Bella, Paige and AJ Lee were some of the major participants in the league, in recent times. That's ebbed slightly, but Alexa Bliss is dating their former tag partner Buddy. Maybe they actually are Ash Ketchum! And that would benefit SmackDown enormously.
Vince, maker and breaker of marital destinies. That sounds like a joke, but it's funny 'cause it's true.
So yeah, not quite stoic protagonists - which Pokémon likes, from Red to the more mild Ash - but ah well. The WWE can be slightly similar to Ash, where they 'fight' but would often rather do anything but. Ash has to be mild, because they fight and need to be apologetic about this, while the WWE can have pretences otherwise. They're ultimately similar, though. It is sort of like Ash with swear words.
The results are slightly mixed, usually they went well in matches I wasn't indifferent to. So yeah, having build-up to the tag match and then ending it quickly is slightly wasteful. You could skip that match. Lesnar-Goldberg might be disappointingly gimmicky, but I wasn't expecting much from it and it wasn't given the time for much of interest. Orton and Bray Wyatt are having one of the plots where the WWE tries to be more complex than it is capable of over long periods of time, by this point. Having major twists in that feud after Wrestlemania seems problematic, as it diminishes a sense of finality or importance to that match.
...It's somewhat like Pokémon S&M, actually. Speaking of which, when can we start calling Lillie the 'Rated R Superstar'?
All Litten would approve of this alteration, as they could then be clearly different. It would liberate their race from the shackles of immigration and racial hybridity, like.
Anyway, though, next time there's a wrestling chat we should take care to only discuss wrestlers we'd rather lose. So not Bo Dallas, then. It was a slightly "casual" chat, hence the ending - we would keep more careful records for a film chat or such. In all likelihood we won't have chats about other wrestling events, unless it would be amusing. Or it's SummerSlam/Unforgiven and we haven't had a chat for a while, at which point we can have an enlightening and coincidentally self-promoting discussion. Still, thanks to all participants in this chat. See you again.
